Why SSS exists

Most contractors don't have a supplement system
I've stepped into a lot of storm restoration companies, and one thing keeps showing up: most contractors don't have a true supplement strategy.
Some rely almost entirely on a supplement company to tell them what's missing, what to ask for, and how to move the file forward. Others accept what the carrier gives them, because the job still has enough margin to make sense.
The problem is that good margins can hide a broken process. A claim can look profitable and still be incomplete. A roof can be fully approved while the claim is still missing legitimate damage. Something is almost always overlooked somewhere in the file.
Supplementing should be strategic
I believe every claim should be reviewed strategically, even when the roof is fully approved. Not to inflate the claim. To make sure the full, documented damage is accounted for.
That may include roofing. It may also include siding, gutters, windows, paint, fascia, soffit, interior damage, detach and reset items, code-related work, or other affected trades.
If damage exists and needs to be repaired, the homeowner deserves to have it addressed. And when additional items are legitimate and properly documented, the contractor and sales team benefit from an honest increase in the claim. Everyone involved wins.
The missing piece is usually the system
What I see most often isn't a lack of effort. It's a lack of structure. There's no consistent process to:
- Identify what's missing
- Determine which supplement strategy applies
- Decide what needs to happen before production
- Track unresolved items through the claim
- Make sure the money actually comes back in the door
Increasing the claim is only half the job. Getting the money back in the door is the other half.
Why I built Storm Supplements Simplified
I built SSS because contractors need this knowledge inside their own companies.
- Owners need to understand what's happening in their claims.
- Estimators need a repeatable review process.
- Sales reps need to know what to document in the field.
- The whole team needs a simple system they can follow, without turning supplementing into another complicated department.
That's what I'm here to teach. Not more chaos. Not another giant list of line items. A simple, strategic system for finding what was missed, developing the claim, protecting production, and getting the money back in the door.
The goal is simple
- Review the whole claim.
- Document the real damage.
- Repair what needs to be repaired.
- Recover what was legitimately owed.
- Repeat it on the next file.
Know what to look for. Know what to do next.
What SSS stands on
Classification before action.
Funding before production.
Reconciliation before closure.
Start where I would.
Run the GRS Kit on your last few roofs. It's the fastest money-moving supplement there is. Then use the supp letter to get the money back in the door.
Or comment ROOF or LETTER on Instagram at @suppstrategy.
Know what to look for. Know what to do next.
Storm Supplements Simplified™ is education and training only. It is not public adjusting, done-for-you estimating, or legal advice, and it does not guarantee any claim outcome. Education only.
